Bailed Out – Boro Can Now Focus On The League

One less distraction now – focus and energy can remain channeled on the searing start to the Championship campaign. Nottingham Forest thankfully dumped us from the Carling Cup w/ a 2-1 (aet) win at the City Ground. Adam Johnson continued his fine goal scoring form w/ a composed finish – the first goal in the new away strip. The novelty would soon wear off: Forest leveled in the second half through Luke Chambers, and a strike from Radoslav Majewski late in the first session of extra time ultimately saw Billy Davies’ side through.

Boro avert any injury crisis, job done, distinguished exit, next up Bristol City…it becomes a bit of a curate’s egg: not good that we miss out on exposure and potential cash windfall, but equally not bad that we can shave a few fixtures from an already demanding fixture list…
