Yeah, We Made It…

…a steely result at Wigan to propel overall feeling at home. Now, can we get through another round of World Cup qualifiers without debilitating injuries? A look at the Teesside participants in the action occurring from the weekend through the next mid-week:

England v Kazakhstan

Good thing Stewart Downing balls up that opportunity v Andorra in Barcelona; he makes Capello’s squad, but serious doubt about shedding that warm-up, even w/ Joe Cole unfit due to the knack picked up at the weekend v Villa; Stewie has been deemed superfluous it appears, despite being the only true left winger of English pedigree…I mean Jermaine Fucking Jenas came on for Cole after his headsplitting in Zagreb. Downing: safe

More on the Three Lions…Rio Ferdinand will deputise for John Terry against Kazakhstan, carrying the torch that subverts any respect agenda being propagated by UEFA suits. More of the same from Don Capello, looking to reunite the dire midfield pairing of Stevie G. and Wank Lampard, even though it’s resulted in nothing but disaster in previous attempts. For the last fucking Italian time…Lampard and Barry have paired well together, don’t muck it up simply because Gerrard is back healthy…if you must, Gerrard OR Lampard, not the both of them. And one more thing…why the perfunctory call-up of Jimmy Bullard for one fastidious match? To stop the squawking? Give the hideous bastard his chance…he is surgical from set pieces, and would probably render Beckham obsolete. Come on Fabio, we know you loathe the bitch anyway based on your last year at Real, who are you fooling? Set him to pasture…

Egypt v Djibouti

Brief commentary here…message for gaffer Hassan Shehata…why even call up Mido and Mohamed Shawky? To fuck w/ us? Knock it off…Egypt are through, and Djibouti capitulated to Malawi 11-1 on aggregate. Malawi!!! (great article re: the agricultural revolution in Malawi)

Turkey v Bosnia and Herzegovina

Thank Christ Tuncay is back on Teesside rehabilitating…no relaying flags to assistant referees or going in goal after the keeper sees red like v Czech Republic @ Euro ‘08

Faroe Islands v Austria

Does that Pogi ban extend to international duty? Don’t believe so…take it easy, no international incidents please? We need you more than one of the litany of European doormats….though success should be found in Torshavn

Good thing David Wheater, Jeramie Aliadiere, Afonso Alves, and Julio Arca aren’t English, French, Brazilian, and Argentinian enough for national duty, respectively. Same goes for Justin Hoyte, Chris Riggott, and Gary O’Neil…not English enough that is.

En La Liga

…check the link, and forward to the 4.50 mark for a stupefying run from Messi that doesn’t even result in a goal…and look out for a similar jaunt a mere seconds later…

Not much else to say…though Espanyol held Real incredibly well with some magic of their own…especially from Tamudo, per Ray Hudson, ‘a superlative striker of the highest order’. I’ve yet to hear better praise meted upon a footballer in years…

More this weekend…for now? LISTEN!
